What's the right machine for you- Matching the machine to the task will give long service life, speed of operation and safety allowing your business to run smoothly.
Lift capacity required - The weight of the object to be lifted is an obvious criteria to know when choosing a forklift. What is commonly overlooked is the centre of gravity and any distance the load needs to be reached in front of the forklift, both of which increase the lift capacity required.
Lift Height required - The height goods need to be lifted when loading the vehicle, for instance a high mast may be required if stacking. Higher masts may also be required when delivering to customers, for example onto a mezzanine floor.
Terrain Ability - Will the deliveries be on relatively smooth surfaces (e.g. concrete), rough surfaces (e.g. rough gravel yards) or off road (e.g. muddy building sites). Terrain ability tends to have the biggest influence on machine size and therefore the kerb weight and the purchase price.
